The Wave is a disaster movie with a heartwarming drama twist. The story is based on a great tsunami that hit Geiranger fjord in 1934, telling the story that since then geologists have been monitoring the mountain activity. Until one day, the day that the people were really afraid it would happen, happens. A geologist, Kristian (Kristoffer Joner) realises that there are less than ten minutes left before an 85m tsunami hits the village of Geiranger again. The Wave made a world premiere at Toronto Film Festival. It will premiere in the U.S and other countries including Indonesia soon. The Wave will be playing at CGV Blitz, Cinemaxx Theater and Platinum Cineplex starting December 30, 2015.
The Wave entered as the official selection for the 88th Academy Awards as The Best Foreign Language Film.
